Parenting the parent

I agree 100%. Parents need to be more strict with their kids. I think parents that work all day are exhausted with the disciplinary actions when they get home. Parents are consumed with job responsibilities and financial strains that might make a parent lack in being a responsible parent. We need some kind of intervention. Because it's becoming the norm, and it's destroying the youth and also a vicious cycle. The Generation of today saddens my heart. Being a parent myself I give rewards when my kids when they get good grades. I am very old fashioned "Children are what they live" and if you don't want to have unruly and out of control child/ren. You have to make sacrifices and get serious lay the law down. Let them know who's boss. it doesnt end there "It takes a village to raise a child". I blame government officials for their lack in respecting a parent when disciplining a child. ACS gives our children to much lead way today. I believe that's why the children are disrespectful because they feel that they have these agencies corruputing their minds into thinking Mom and Dad is the enemy. It's spreading like wildfire. I sympathize with the issue. We as a people need to wake up.

  1. Wow! I seriously agree with everything you are saying. I am a single parent and I believe it does take a village to raise a child… I don’t believe in hitting my children. They get punishments to suite the situation. ACS does have a lot of children believing they can be reckless and they can get away with it. The thing is I strongly believe that it all starts at home…. It is when they are still small and soaking in everything like a sponge that we need to teach them right from wrong and that they must respect us, other adults and themselves. From there we can grow… don’t wait until the kid is standing over you telling you what to do. Get it in order from the beginning.
